Elvis Costume Contest

OVERVIEW

Competition Administrator: Dagny Wright

Overview: This contest is true to our city because it was/is(some still think he is alive) the home of Elvis Presley. Release your inner Elvis in the way that you feel will bring him to life at SoutheastCon 2006. The winner of this fun-loving contest will be the one that most appeals to the crowd and wins the hearts of our judges during a pageant that will occur after the robot competition.

When: Saturday, April 1st (hmmm…. April fool’s day!) after the student robot competition.

A package stacking chute consisting of a triangular FedEx mailing tube positioned vertically over one corner of the board is filled with 12 “packages.” Barcodes affixed to each of the packages indicate the plane onto which it should be loaded.

Prizes: Based on the ruling of our judges, one first place prize and one second place prize will be awarded.  This light-hearted and fun-loving contest will be decided subjectively by the judges.  The decision of the judges is final.

One first place prize will be awarded.  An Elvis iPod shuffle courtesy of Course Technologies.

One second place prize will be awarded.  One hands-on computer class at the Computer Resource Center (CRC) at Southwest Tennessee Community College. The recipient must attend class at the CRC training center and has a maximum value of 0, which would enable the participant to enroll in a variety of Microsoft Office courses including Access, Project, VBA for Excel, Visio, and others.
